This manual provides operational and practice guidance to assist the management and delivery of the Resource Teachers: Literacy Service.

The constitution aims to provide support and assistance to all Resource Teachers: Literacy and to facilitate communication and co-ordination with other sectors in the education system.

The Action Plans detail concrete steps to clarify inclusive, evidence-informed teaching practices; strengthen capability supports along the professional pathway; enhance partnerships between the education system and whānau, iwi, and communities; and embed equitable additional learning supports and assessment tools that help kaiako effectively notice and respond to the needs of ākonga.

This document is about teachers’ relationships and engagement with Māori learners and with their whānau and iwi. It supports the personalisation of learning for, and with, Māori learners, to ensure they enjoy educational success as Māori.

Ka Hikitia is a cross-agency strategy for the education sector. The document sets out how different agencies will work with education services to achieve system shifts and support Māori learners, their whānau, hapū and iwi to achieve excellent and equitable outcomes.

The Pasifika Education Plan sets out the Government’s strategy for Pasifika success where Pasifika learners enjoy educational success as Pasifika. Secure in their identities, languages and cultures, and participating, engaging and achieving in education, contributing to New Zealand’s social, cultural and economic well-being.

This document outlines five key shifts that have been prioritised by Pacific communities and a series of associated actions. These are the first steps towards achieving the action plan’s vision - ‘diverse Pacific learners and families are safe, valued and equipped to achieve their educational aspirations’.
